The Greenville super regional has had no shortage of excitement.
East Carolina took care of business in Game 1, defeating Texas 13-7. Late game heroics in Game 2 pushed the Longhorns over the Pirates 9-8 to force a Game 3 on Sunday.
Texas was trailing 7-2 at one point on Saturday and many already threw in the towel as it looked like East Carolina was on their way to clinching their first College World Series appearance. However, Skyler Messinger hit a three-run bomb in the eighth inning to tie the game for the Longhorns.
Shortly after, Dylan Campbell hit a solo home run to put Texas up by one. East Carolina would respond with a solo home run of their own in the top of the ninth inning to tie the game, only for Campbell to come through in the clutch yet again with a walk-off single when bases were loaded with two outs in the bottom of the ninth.
Here’s how to tune in to the winner-takes-all game on Sunday.
