With the Philadelphia 76ers out of the playoffs, now is the time to highlight some of the former Sixers who are still alive in the playoffs as the 2021-22 season begins to really wind down.
The Boston Celtics were in the Bay Area on Sunday evening looking to take a 2-0 lead in these NBA Finals over the Golden State Warriors after a shocking Game 1 win. Led by a star duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, the Celtics got off to a good start, but then the Warriors used a third-quarter avalanche to take Game 2 by a score of 107-88.
Former Sixers big man Al Horford, who spent one tough season in Philadelphia, was so important in the Game 1 win for the Celtics, but he struggled mightily in Game 2. Horford finished with two points on 1-for-4 shooting and eight rebounds as Golden State neutralized him as well as the other C’s to get a 1-1 split.

Another former Sixer, Nik Stauskas, hopped off the bench and had three points late in garbage time.
The series now shifts to the TD Garden in Boston for Game 3 of these NBA Finals on Wednesday.
