MLB fans weren’t happy after a Yankees fan took a baseball from Aaron Judge out of a young kid’s glove

Don’t be that fan.

When it comes to great moments in the stands, it’s so easy to think back to early May where a Blue Jays fan in Toronto caught a home run from Aaron Judge and immediately gave the baseball to a young Yankees fan. It was a simple act of kindness that captured the attention of the entire baseball world.

On Tuesday night, though, we saw the other side of that spectrum take place at Yankee Stadium. And honestly, it was tough to watch.

The broadcast from the Yankees’ win over the Orioles showed Judge retrieving a foul ball down the right-field line and looking to give a young fan a memorable experience with a souvenir. Judge was placing the baseball directly in the young fan’s glove when an adult Yankees fan swooped in and took the baseball to the complete shock of everyone around them.

I mean, who does that?

While young fans aren’t necessarily entitled to baseballs that are thrown into the stands, that baseball was clearly going to the kid. It was being placed in the glove, so it really made no sense for an actual adult to jump in and grab the ball away. And on top of that, he acted thrilled as if he had just accomplished something.

Not cool at all, man.

Let’s hope the Yankees find a way to connect with the young fan and make things right because he really didn’t deserve what happened there.

MLB Twitter wasn’t thrilled with the older fan’s antics either.
