Southeastern Louisiana is not The Gap Band, but it definitely felt like LSU dropped a bomb on it Tuesday night at Alex Box Stadium.
The Tigers beat the Lions 17-3 in a game that was called after the top of the seventh, and things are looking good heading into the second-to-last SEC series against Ole Miss this weekend.
Unlike Texas every fall, [autotag]Gavin Dugas[/autotag] is actually back for the Tigers, and he got the party started in the bottom of the first inning with a solo homer to left field to make it 1-0.
The Lions struck back with a solo homer of their own in the top of the second to tie the game 1-1 before LSU took the lead for good in the bottom of the second with a [autotag]Josh Pearson[/autotag] sacrifice fly to take a 2-1 lead.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, everything fell apart like Post Malone for Southeastern Louisiana as LSU scored nine runs. Dugas started the rally once again, this time with a two-RBI single to score [autotag]Tyler McManus[/autotag] and [autotag]Jordan Thompson[/autotag] to make it 4-1.
[autotag]Collier Cranford[/autotag] then scored on a [autotag]Dylan Crews[/autotag] groundout to make it 5-1. [autotag]Tre Morgan[/autotag] hit a two-RBI single that scored Pearson and Dugas to make it 7-1.
[autotag]Brayden Jobert[/autotag] hit a two-RBI double that scored Doughty and Morgan to make it 9-1. McManus hit an RBI single to score Jobert and Thompson scored on a fielder’s choice to make it 11-1 LSU after four innings.

In the top of the fifth, the Lions hit a two-run homer off [autotag]Bryce Collins[/autotag] to make it 11-3 but that is all the damage they could do. In the top of the sixth inning, [autotag]Blake Money[/autotag] came out of the bullpen to pitch for the Tigers, take that as you may. Money has been the No. 2 starter for most of the season, but after a few rough outings, maybe he’s gone to the pen to get his swagger back.
In the bottom of the sixth, the Tiger bats came alive again as LSU reeled off six more runs. McManus hit an RBI double to score Jobert. Pearson and Crews both walked with bases loaded and Morgan hit a three-RBI double to make it 17-3.

With the win, LSU moves to 33-15 (14-10 SEC) on the season, boasting a 25-6 record at The Box. Hopefully, LSU can add some more wins to that home record this weekend as they welcome the Rebels into town for a weekend series. The first game is scheduled for Friday night at 7:30 p.m. CT.
