Oregon Ducks left out of top-16 seed for March Madness heading into Pac-12 tournament

The Ducks are going to need a strong showing in the Pac-12 tournament if they want to be a host in March Madness.

Selection Sunday hasn’t taken place just yet, but the Oregon Ducks got an early look at where they stand as far as tournament seeding goes entering the Pac-12 tournament later this week.

Unfortunately, it’s on the outside looking in.

That’s as far as the top-16 seeds go, of course, where Oregon hopes to be when all is said and done since those teams will host their first two tournament games rather than go on the road. With a preview of the top-16 teams released on Monday afternoon, the Ducks were left out of the mix and will need a strong performance in the upcoming tournament to get back into the mix.

It was announced on Monday morning that the Ducks had also fallen out of the Top-25 ranking following their double-OT loss to the Colorado Buffaloes last week. They will begin their Pac-12 tournament run on Thursday afternoon against either UCLA or USC in the quarterfinals on Thursday, March 3. Tip-off will be at 6 p.m. on the Pac-12 Network.
