Donovan Peoples-Jones loves Cleveland says ‘best is yet to come’

After a tough year that started with so much promise, both as an individual and the team, DPJ shows Cleveland love and has high hopes for the future:

The Cleveland Browns did not have the season they wanted to in 2021. A myriad of factors played a role starting with QB Baker Mayfield’s health, the Odell Beckham Jr. situation, special teams struggles and COVID limitations. None are excuses but they do help explain the team’s drop from the playoffs in 2021.

One of the more exciting things going into the season was the breakout training camp that WR Donovan Peoples-Jones had. With Beckham returning from injury, Jarvis Landry healthy and the addition of Anthony Schwartz and his speed, the development of Peoples-Jones was thought to be the missing piece to a great receiving group.

Instead, the receiver room is likely the main focus, along with the defensive line, this offseason and the former Michigan receiver only had 34 receptions for 597 yards and three touchdowns.

Peoples-Jones took to Twitter earlier this offseason to share his love for the city of Cleveland and hopes for the future:

The positivity from the Browns former sixth-round pick is refreshing after a difficult season. His confidence for the future is even better to see. With a healthy Mayfield and more talent added around him, Peoples-Jones could see his number skyrocket in 2022 if his developmental path continues in year three.
