The Philadelphia 76ers and the Dallas Mavericks got off to an entertaining start to their matchup on Friday as both teams got off to a nice rhythm on the offensive end. Joel Embiid and Luka Doncic were off to good starts on offense and it looked like it would be a fun game.
Then, things came to a screeching halt with 6:03 to go in the first quarter and the Sixers holding a 19-17 lead in the early going. Doncic noticed that something was off with the rim and he called for the arena staff to fix the issue.
The arena employees at American Airlines Center came out and brought out a ladder as well as tools to level the rim. After it seemed like the rim was fixed, the backboard was then uneven causing more delay. They then had to replace the backboard as the game was delayed even further.
