Former Michigan State basketball star Denzel Valentine will be starting the new year in a different home. The Cleveland Cavilers traded Valentine to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for point guard Rajon Rondo.
ESPN Sources: The Cavaliers have agreed to trade Denzel Valentine to the Lakers to acquire Rajon Rondo. The Lakers are expected to waive Valentine’s partially-guaranteed deal and create an open roster spot.

The Lakers are expected to waive Valentine, freeing up a roster spot for the Lakers to use, also it will give Valentine the freedom to sign wherever he would like to.
So far this season, in 22 games, Valentine averages 2.9 points and 1.7 rebounds in 9.3 minutes of game time.
