Sixers player grades: Joel Embiid leads big effort to knock off Wizards

Joel Embiid led a big effort as the Philadelphia 76ers knocked off the Washington Wizards on the road.

The Philadelphia 76ers were coming off some recent subpar efforts and they really needed to put together a solid effort in order to come away with a win and feel good about themselves. A trip to the nation’s capital to visit the Washington Wizards seemed to do the trick for them.

In their first meeting since Round 1 of the 2021 playoffs, the Sixers were able to come away with a relatively easy 117-96 win on the road and get back over .500. Philadelphia used a steady diet of Joel Embiid in order to get a much-needed victory. The big fella poured in 36 points and 14 rebounds to lead the way for the Sixers.

Tobias Harris added 23 points and seven rebounds, Furkan Korkmaz busted out of his slump a bit to score 14 points off the bench, Tyrese Maxey added 13 points, and Seth Curry had 11 and nine assists.
