Tua Tagovailoa leads the league in this stat 15 weeks into the season

The quarterback’s accuracy has great this season.

For all of the conversations that have taken place this year about Tua Tagovailoa’s performance and job security, he’s been pretty solid in 2021.

The Dolphins quarterback has helped his team turn around a 1-7 start that included essentially four games that he didn’t get to play. Now, Miami is 7-7 and their offense has seen signs of success because of Tagovailoa’s best trait – his accuracy.

Through 15 weeks, Tagovailoa actually leads the league in completion percentage, as he’s completed 69.9% of his passes. He probably won’t be able to break the NFL record (74.4% set by Drew Brees in 2018), but if he keeps up this pace, he can break the Dolphins’ franchise record (68.5%) that was actually set by Ryan Fitzpatrick last season.

While the 23-year-old has been scrutinized for his injury issues and his deep ball, he has proven he can complete passes and drive a team down the field.
