Texans QB Tyrod Taylor shares David Culley’s message after 22-13 win over the Titans

Houston Texans quarterback Tyrod Taylor shared what coach David Culley’s message was to the team following the 22-13 win over the Tennessee Titans.

The Houston Texans pulled off the biggest upset of Week 11 when they took down the Tennessee Titans 22-13 Sunday afternoon at Nissan Stadium.

The Texans turned the Titans over five times with the defense generating four interceptions of quarterback Ryan Tannehill.

Meanwhile Tyrod Taylor played well enough to win. Although Taylor went 14-of-24 for 107 yards, he didn’t throw an interception or lose a fumble. In fact, Taylor rushed six times for 28 yards and two touchdowns to help the Texans cash in on two of their four red zone trips.

Taylor shared with reporters after the game what coach David Culley’s message was to the team after the win that improves Houston to 2-8 on the season.

Proud of the way we fought,” said Taylor. “Obviously, to come on the road in a divisional game with a team that was on a win streak definitely feels good to get that win. Obviously, it wasn’t a clean game or it wasn’t a perfect game. It was a win for us.”

The Texans, despite having a lopsided record, are winners in the AFC South with a 2-1 mark.

Although Houston tasted victory for the first time since Week 1, Taylor says the team isn’t going to get complacent over one hard-fought win against a juggernaut in the AFC.

Said Taylor: “So, there’s still stuff to clean up, but we’ll do that. Like we mentioned to you guys last week and we spoke about in the locker room, it’s a 1-0 mindset. We’ve got to continue to take it one week at a time.”

The Texans get back in action in Week 12 with a noontime tilt against the New York Jets Sunday at NRG Stadium. The Jets are equally 2-8 and have also fallen on difficult times throughout the 2021 campaign. A win would give Houston their first winning streak since Weeks 11-12 of last year.
