It’s been pretty brutal for the Bears offense Sunday afternoon against the Ravens. But things went from bad to worse when rookie quarterback Justin Fields exited the game with a rib injury in the third quarter.
Fields took a hit to the ribs on a scramble on third-and-long, where he was examined in the blue medical tent before being escorted to the locker room. Andy Dalton, who was the starter at the beginning of the season, replaced him and promptly led the Bears on a touchdown drive to give the team a 7-6 lead.
After an impressive last couple of games where he took a step forward in his development, he got off to a slow start coming out of the bye week against the Ravens. Fields completed 40of-11 passes for 79 yards through three quarters.
