E.J. Liddell named to Preseason All-Big Ten team

Do you think any Ohio State players were slighted with these selections by the media?

Believe it or not, hoops season is about to tip-off across this great country of ours, and that means Ohio State is ready to hit the hardwood. In fact, the Buckeyes have a scrimmage against Indianapolis at the Schott this coming Monday. From there, it’s just a little over a wee before OSU opens the season against Akron at home. So yeah, we’re going to be watching some hoops before you know it.

On Wednesday, to prepare for the 2021-2022 season, the Big Ten announced its preseason All-Big Ten team, and Ohio State forward E.J. Liddell was the lone Buckeye making the cut. He joined eleven other players across eight programs on the team. Liddell was one of just four players that were unanimous choices among the selection panel. Michigan, Illinois, and Purdue were the only programs with more than one selection, with two players each represented.

It also should be noted that Illinois big man Kofi Cockburn was named the conference’s Preseason Player of the Year.

Here’s a look at the entire 11-man Preseason All-Big Ten as chosen by a media panel.
