The Tennessee volleyball team won its fourth consecutive match Saturday night.
UT’s victory, however, did not come easily for the No. 20 Lady Vols as they outlasted LSU in a five-set thriller, 25-14, 23-25, 25-19, 22-25, 15-13, at the Maravich Assembly Center in Baton Rouge.
Breana Runnels posted a double-double for UT (16-3, 8-1 SEC) with 21 kills and 14 digs. She also recorded two aces and one assist against the Tigers (8-12, 4-7).
Runnels also picked up help from her supporting cast.
Danielle Mahaffey came up with 13 kills and seven blocks, while Morgahn Fingall finished with 11 kills and five blocks.
From the back row, Madison Bryant finished the marathon match with 14 digs. She also recorded two aces and seven assists.
Natalie Hayward totaled 13 digs, five blocks and four aces.
