The SEC Network is nice and all, but nothing is better than playing for a national audience on CBS. A worthy second? The Mothership of ESPN.
The Razorbacks played on the former Saturday against Texas A&M. They will play on the latter this Saturday against Georgia.
Now Arkansas will play on one or the other, largely depending on the outcomes of Week 5, on Week 6.
CBS will choose between either Arkansas and Ole Miss or Georgia and Auburn for the 2:30 p.m. game in Week 6. It’s expected if Arkansas and Ole Miss both win in Week 5 (the Razorbacks play Georgia and Ole Miss plays Alabama), the network will choose the Hogs and Rebels. After all, they would have beaten the No. 2 and No. 1 teams in the country to make that so. Both would almost certainly be ranked in the top 10, perhaps the top five.
If Georgia and Auburn, which plays LSU, both win, then Bulldogs versus Tigers makes more sense. If the teams split, who knows. Whichever game it is, it will be the first of an SEC doubleheader as the network will air Texas A&M against Alabama on Saturday evening.
Arkansas’ game against Texas A&M was the first time the Hogs had been on the network on a Saturday since 2017. The Razorbacks’ season finale against Missouri is almost always played on a Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, and is aired on CBS.
Either way, Arkansas has done enough to show its worth when it comes to national attention.
