Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs is the latest player in Buffalo to want the team to bust out the throwback red helmets when they can.
On Sunday, Diggs took to his Twitter account and sent out a message. In that, he shared a photoshopped image of himself in an old-school red helmet and blue jersey look.
Diggs also tagged the Bills’ team account:
@BuffaloBills We need it please and thank you 😊😊😊 https://t.co/SyVnQut1ZB

The idea of potentially changing colors is one that did recently become a reality. New rules starting in 2022 will allow NFL teams to wear an alternate helmet throughout the season.
Previously, the NFL only allowed a team to wear one helmet as a safety precaution. The current base color of Buffalo’s helmet is white, and it allowed the Bills to switch out the decals to wear throwbacks to the standing Buffalo design, which is nice, but those wanting a red look were out of luck.
With the new rule, teams can wear two different helmets in a season, and many like Diggs are calling for that second one to be red. The Bills previously wore red helmets in the ’90s.
The star wide receiver now joins the likes of two other teammates, Reid Ferguson and Jon Feliciano, who have also already taken to social media to request the team wears a red helmet.
