Former Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts has earned the starting quarterback job for the Philadelphia Eagles. As a rookie, Hurts was seemingly put into the perfect position: the team that drafted him was having doubts about their starting, struggling quarter back.
Carson Wentz has since been traded and Hurts is the presumed starter. He started four games as a rookie, completing 77 of 148 passing attempts for 1,061 yards, six touchdowns and four interceptions.
ESPN’s Mike Clay has projected stats for Hurts in the 2021 season.
Clay predicts Hurts will complete 334 of 541 passing attempts for 3,861 yards, 21 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. He also believes Hurts will rush for 681 yards and six touchdowns.
There’s no telling what the future holds for Hurts in the 2021 season, but he’ll have a new teammate with an old friend from Alabama, Heisman-winning wide receiver, DeVonta Smith.
