Former Alabama running back Najee Harris was a star out of the backfield for the Crimson Tide. With a solid quarterback and numerous elite receivers, Harris’ abilities out of the backfield made the Alabama offense one of the most dangerous units in all of college football.

Harris will begin his professional career with the Pittsburgh Steelers after being drafted No. 24 overall by the historic franchise.

NFL analyst Bucky Brooks believes that Harris could be the key to the Steelers’ future success.

“The skeptics did not like the Steelers spending a first-round pick on a running back in the 2021 NFL Draft, but the addition of an elite playmaker in the backfield will help the team play complementary football, particularly near the end of the season when teams are making a playoff push,” writes Brooks.

Not only does he see him as a playmaker that can carry the ball, but Brooks described him as a player with potential ‘WR2′ talent.

“Insert Harris into the lineup and the Steelers, who ranked dead last in rushing last season, have a three-down back with big-play potential when the ball’s in his hands,” writes Brooks. “At Alabama, he displayed outstanding balance, body control and burst as a runner and spectacular skills as a route runner in the passing game. With Big Ben better suited to play small ball at this stage of his career, the addition of a versatile, big-bodied back with soft hands gives the Steelers’ offense another dimension.”

Roll Tide wire will continue to cover Najee Harris as he enters his rookie season in the NFL with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
