It’s been another rough season for the Cleveland Cavaliers. They’ve lost eight of their past 10 games and currently sit six games out of the final play-in spot. And Kevin Love, specifically, has had a frustrating season that included missing 43 games due to injury.
So, in a way, it wasn’t all that surprising to see Love basically give up on attempting an inbounds pass against the Raptors Monday. Instead, he batted the ball to nobody, which led to an uncontested 3 by the Raptors.
The play deservedly went viral because it was so clear that Love was fed up with his current situation in Cleveland. But on Wednesday, he did his best to walk back on what happened and apologize.

Love said to reporters:
“I love this team, first and foremost. I know that I (expletive) up. I apologize for that. I don’t go out there intending to upset anybody, to embarrass myself, to embarrass the organization. Because I feel that I’m a part of something bigger than myself here. But I know that I’m a good human being. I know that in some cases, I’m misunderstood. And that’s fine. That’s fine. I love Cleveland. I (expletive) ride with Cleveland till the day I die.”
