Friday marks the end of an era on Jeopardy! — the final episode hosted by the legendary, iconic Alex Trebek.
All week, we’ve seen four of the final five episodes he taped before dying just 10 days later after a long battle with cancer. Friday’s episode won’t just be a regular one — it’ll also have (per the Jeopardy! Twitter account), “a very special look back at your favorite Alex moments and memories.”
As you may know, Jeopardy! airs at different times all over the United States, so make sure you check to see when it’s on Friday in your area. Here’s the tweet from Jeopardy!

And some tributes that have started coming in, including from champion James Holzhauer and a great video of questions he asked contestants:

It’s easy to forget that Jeopardy is basically “Let’s watch these three strangers take a GED test, except they have to pretend THEY’RE asking US the questions because reasons”. Alex made that concept into the biggest thing on TV, into a lifelong dream for prospective contestants.

Only one person could have pulled that off, and he did it through sickness and health every weekday for my entire life. I feel very grateful for the time we had together—not just in the studio but also in my living room, where he’s felt like a member of the family for 30+ years.

So long, old friend. The Jeopardy music will always bring a tear to my eye.

Alex Trebek pronounced Giannis Antetokounmpo’s full name perfectly on his penultimate episode hosting #Jeopardy. The man was an absolute legend into his final days. pic.twitter.com/F542diYmmW
