It’s happening.
Despite Florida only having 60 or so scholarship players, according to Dan Mullen, the Cotton Bowl between Oklahoma and the Gators is on. The Sooners arrived on Tuesday night ahead of Wednesday night’s game with Florida arriving on Monday.
Despite having COVID-19 issues earlier in the season, Oklahoma hasn’t been hit too hard by the virus or the postseason opt-outs. Starting corner Tre Brown opted-out of playing in the game and Sooners Wire was able to confirm the reports about wide receiver Jadon Haselwood not traveling with Oklahoma. The Sooners have not had any issues with COVID-19 and everyone else is expected to play.
Florida, on the other hand, has been devastated by opt-outs. Star tight end Kyle Pitts isn’t playing and neither are the other three top pass-catchers for the Gators. Starting corner Marco Wilson also opted-out. Mullen didn’t go over why Florida only will have 60 scholarship players, but one of them is star quarterback Kyle Trask.
