Packers playoff rooting guide for Week 16

Who to root for in Week 16 as the NFC North champion Packers attempt to clinch the No. 1 seed in the conference.

By the end of Sunday night, the Green Bay Packers could be guaranteed the No. 1 seed in the NFC.

And it won’t take much in terms of results to get it done.

The path forward in Week 16 is a simple one for the Packers – hope for the right outcome during an important early game, and then beat the Tennessee Titans on “Sunday Night Football.”

The Packers can clinch the No. 1 seed with the following two results:

– Los Angeles Rams win (or tie) vs. Seattle Seahawks
– Packers win vs. Titans

The Rams and Seahawks play in Seattle starting at 3:25 p.m. CT on Sunday. The Packers will host the Titans at Lambeau Field at 7:15 p.m. CT. Before kickoff, Matt LaFleur’s team will know if they can clinch the top seed by beating the Titans.

The Chicago Bears, who will welcome the Packers to Soldier Field in the season finale next Sunday, remain in the hunt for the final playoff spot in the NFC. They play the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday but cannot clinch a playoff spot or be eliminated this week, meaning next week will matter for Matt Nagy’s team. Regardless of what happens in Week 16, the Packers can secure the No. 1 seed by beating the Bears next week.
