LSU kicker Cade York made one of the most memorable plays of the 2020 college football season when he sent a 57-yard attempt through the uprights in the final moments of December’s matchup against the previously No. 6-ranked Florida Gators to pull off a 37-34 upset in The Swamp.
Now, he’s receiving further recognition for his achievements this year.
York was LSU’s lone player selected to this year’s USA TODAY All-America team, joining the likes of Georgia Tech punter Pressley Harvin III and Boise State kick returner Avery Williams under the first-team special teams unit.
The LSU kicker also received first-team All-SEC honors earlier this year.

York was 18-of-21 on field goals this year with a long of 57 yards. As a freshman in 2019, he was 21-of-27 on field goals with a long of 52 yards.
That means he’s seen an improvement in percentage, making a jump from 77.78% to 85.71% between the two seasons, and the Tigers will look for him to continue that upward momentum as he prepares for the 2021 season.
