Florida maintains its spot in the AP Poll’s top 10 after a fairly rickety outing against the unranked Vanderbilt on Saturday.
The latest AP Poll, released on Sunday afternoon, lists the Gators as the sixth-ranked football program in the nation. That reflects no change in their placement from last week’s poll, in which the team also ranked sixth. In fact, though the normal shuffling took place down the list, the entire top eight programs hung onto the previous week’s spots.
Kentucky, who will be the Gators’ next opponent, was unranked and received no votes in this week’s poll. If Florida is going to break into the top five, a return to form against another relatively weak opponent. As things sit, Florida is the third-ranked team in the conference, having seemingly settled in behind SEC rivals Alabama and Texas A&M.
