Lady Vols fall to Texas A&M, 3-1.

KNOXVILLE — The University of Tennessee women’s soccer team suffered its first loss at home Friday night.

The Lady Vols came up on the short end of a 3-1 decision against Texas A&M Friday night at Regal Soccer Stadium.

Tennessee (2-3-1, 2-3-1 SEC) fell behind 3-0 early and did not get onto the scoreboard until the 82nd minute when redshirt senior forward Erin Gilroy tallied.

The Aggies (4-1, 4-1) took a 1-0 lead in the 27th minute on a goal by Lauren Geczik. She would later extend Texas A&M’s advantage to 2-0 when she scored again in the 39th minute.

Her first tally was unassisted, but Karlina Sample was credited with an assist on the match’s second marker.

The Aggies took a 3-0 lead when Addie McCain scored in the 58th minute.

Texas A&M outshot the Lady Vols, 13-9. Furthermore, only three of Tennessee’s shots landed on target.
