Browns QB Baker Mayfield confident he’ll play against the Steelers: ‘Mamma didn’t raise no wuss’

Baker Mayfield injured his ribs on Sunday but wants to play against Pittsburgh.

In the Cleveland Browns 32-23 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield suffered a rib injury late in the fourth quarter. But according to Mayfield he is planning to play against the Pittsburgh Steelers this week, because as he put it “mamma didn’t raise no wuss.”

The truth is Mayfield is scheduled to have an x-ray on Monday and we will know more about his availability. Mayfield seems to have re-captured his groove from his rookie season and has the Browns sitting at 4-1. Mayfield had arguably his worst game of the season on Sunday and still threw for 237 yards and two touchdowns.

But the fact of the matter is if Mayfield is a little dinged up this week, it’s only going to get worse on Sunday. No team hits the quarterback as much as the Steelers do. They sacked Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz five times on Sunday and has 20 sacks in four games.
