Jeremy Pruitt issues update on Shawn Shamburger ahead of Georgia game.

KNOXVILLE — No. 12 Tennessee (2-0, 2-0 SEC) will travel to No. 3 Georgia (2-0, 2-0 SEC) Saturday (3:30 p.m. EDT, CBS).

Ahead of the contest, third-year Tennessee head coach Jeremy Pruitt addressed the status of senior Shawn Shamburger.

Pruitt mentioned Shamburger will play Saturday at Georgia. He made the announcement on his weekly Southeastern Conference teleconference appearance.

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound senior plays the STAR position in Pruitt’s defense.

Shamburger missed the Vols first two contests this season. Theo Jackson started at the STAR position against Missouri last week. Doneiko Slaughter started at STAR in Tennessee’s season-opening win at South Carolina.
