Gordon Hayward remains in bubble after wife Robyn gives birth to son

Boston Celtics veteran forward Gordon Hayward remains with the team in the Disney bubble after his wife Robyn gave birth to a son earlier today.

If there ever was any doubt about whether veteran forward Gordon Hayward would remain in the bubble for the birth of he and his wife’s fourth child, well — that issue has officially been settled.

The couple saw their son, Gordon Theodore Hayward, born today, Wednesday September 23rd.

The original plan had been to have Hayward leave the Disney bubble to be with Robyn for the birth, but the combination of a severely sprained ankle in the first round of the playoffs and the evident need for Hayward’s help in the East Finals was enough to change their minds.

The youngest Gordon — technically Gordon Hayward V, according to the Athletic’s Jared Weiss — has reportedly been dubbed “Theo” by his sisters and mother, while the elder Gordon has taken to calling him “GT”.

Our little man is finally here!” wrote Robyn on her Instagram. “I miss you bunches [Gordon] and can’t wait for you to meet him. We’re ready to watch you tonight!”

Asked about the birth during the team’s pregame press conference, Boston head coach Brad Stevens tentatively shared his thoughts.

“I got word late afternoon,” offered Stevens. I’ll let Gordon and Robyn announce the rest of that. Very, very happy to hear the news. Very happy to hear that she’s doing great.”

Here at the Celtics Wire, we feel the same. Congratulations, Gordon and Robyn Hayward!
