Cincinnati Bengals offensive tackle Jonah Williams has had an encouraging first two outings as a pro.
Williams, after missing all of last season, was quielty making his “rookie” on-field debut this year in front of the hype machine that is Joe Burrow.
And while the Alabama product had some serious issues at times in Week 1 against the Los Angeles Chargers, he put on a show in Thursday’s game against the Cleveland Browns.
Williams especially stood out on one play that has since gone viral on social media. He dropped back to pass protect, handled his assignment, then kicked off quickly to the left to disrupt a free rusher who would’ve careened into Burrow:

One analyst put it best:
Jonah Williams has had 2 pretty solid games for his first NFL action.
Rest of the line needs work, but Bengals can at least be encouraged their LT looks legit.

Williams wasn’t perfect, but that standout play and a solid outing while Burrow made history attempting 61 passes is hard to complain about.
It’s early, but against two massive tests, Williams looked the part.
