The Truman Sports Complex, which includes Arrowhead Stadium and Kauffman Stadium, is currently on lockdown due to an armed person on-scene.
According to reports from WDAF-TV, Kansas City police arrived around 11:30 a.m. after reports of an armed man on the Arrowhead side of the complex. When police arrived they were informed that the suspect had fired shots at employees, but that no one had been injured.
Kansas City police have asked that pedestrians avoid the area as security has closed all entrances. There are no events at Arrowhead Stadium today, but there is a Royals baseball game scheduled to be played at 6:00 p.m. CT. It’s unclear if there are any Kansas City Chiefs players currently at the facility today.

The roads surrounding the Truman Sports Complex are still open, but the entrances to the parking lots have been closed for safety reasons. The suspect has been contained to the southeast area of the complex.
While the motivations of the shooter remain unknown, officers and negotiators have reportedly made contact with him in an attempt to talk him down. We’ll keep you updated with all of the latest information as this confrontation unfolds.
