The one Los Angeles Rams player you need to start in Week 1 on DraftKings is WR Van Jefferson.
Just a few seasons ago the Los Angeles Rams were on the brink of a championship, playing against the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LIII. After a disappointing 9-7 campaign in 2019, Los Angeles is hoping they have the pieces for a bounce-back year in 2020. Some of that success could come on the backs of unheralded players like Van Jefferson.
The top two receivers in the Rams’ offense are set with Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp, but who will be No. 3 wideout? The battle is between incumbent receiver Josh Reynolds and Jefferson. Many believe that Jefferson has done enough in training camp to earn that job. Star defenders like Jalen Ramsey and Aaron Donald have both spoken highly of him. Donald said that he’d, “definitely make an impact in the league right away.”
Jefferson has earned that respect too, making plays during training camp with his impressive route-running.

His fantasy projections are admittedly meager, but the upside here is big, even in Week 1 against a solid Dallas Cowboys secondary. Without any preseason tape to go off of, consider the fact that Jefferson is a player who put up four receptions and a touchdown against LSU’s Derek Stingley Jr., the top defensive back in college football last season.
At $3,000, save your money for the stars and roll the dice on Jefferson. He could be a sneaky boom-or-bust play in the flex for DFS in Week 1.
