Jaguars to sign former Eagles CB Sidney Jones to the practice squad

Jaguars to sign Sidney Jones to the practice squad

A change of scenery is always good and after struggling in the huge market of Philadelphia, Sidney Jones is taking his talents to Jacksonville, where he’ll sign to the Jaguars practice squad per Tim McManus of ESPN.com.

Jones was released by the Eagles on Saturday after three injury-plagued seasons that saw him struggle with confidence and lower-body issues. Jones was considered one of the top corners in America prior to the 2017 draft until he ruptured his Achilles tendon at his Pro Day workout.

The Eagles took him in the second round hoping he would regain the form that made him an All-American at Washington.

The Jaguars have a young group of cornerbacks led by the first-round pick, CJ Henderson and Jones could find a place on the 53 man roster with a team looking to tank and rebuild.
