The NFL waiver wire will be run at noon on Sunday and the New York Giants will have fourth priority by virtue of their 2020 draft status, which was the No. 4 overall selection.
The Giants will submit a list of players to the league they wish to claim in order of priority. The wire will be run just like the in-season waiver process. If a team does not have a claim or the player they wanted to claim has been picked up, they will be bypassed.
Should the Giants place a claim on a player, only the three teams who drafted ahead of them — Cincinnati, Washington and Detroit — could possibly take that player in their prioritized spot.
Last year, the Giants had the sixth priority and made several moves after their 53-man roster was set. They claimed wide receiver Cody Core and offensive lineman Eric Smith off waivers and signed linebacker David Mayo and tight end Eric Tomlinson as free agents.
Additionally, they also traded linebacker B.J. Goodson to the Green Bay Packers.
Do no be surprised to see a slew of moves, including potential trades, orchestrated by general manager Dave Gettleman on Sunday.
