Eagles-Cowboys: PFF predicts the NFC East champ in a two-team race

PFF predicts the Cowboys to win the NFC East over the Eagles

The NFC East was a two-team race in 2019 and even after some coaching changes and improvement by Washington and the New York Giants, the division will be decided between the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Cowboys and Eagles both improved drastically during the offseason and Dallas landed one of the top head coaches in Mike McCarthy, after moving on from Jason Garrett.

PFF recently predicted the division and award winners for both conferences and the Cowboys were named NFC East champs based on this breakdown:

NFC EAST: DALLAS COWBOYS
The NFC East should be a two-horse race between the Cowboys and the Eagles, but there are just too many things pointing in Dallas’ favor right now. The coaching change should immediately make this team significantly better, given the biggest charge against them recently has been underachieving, and the draft they had just puts them over the top.

The coaching change definitely makes Dallas a better team, but this isn’t 2011 and there’s no reason to believe that Mike McCarthey is a better in-game coach at this point than Doug Pederson.

The Eagles were predicted to be a Wild Card team and similar to last season, seeding and a playoff game could come down to the December 27 matchup at AT&T stadium.
