COVID-19 changes

After lengthy negations between the NFLPA and NFL, the entire preseason was canceled and an extensive list of preventative measures were installed just to get players safely to training camps around the league.

Players had until August 6 to inform teams of their decision to opt out of the season. Camp rosters have been reduced from 90 to 80 (teams can meet the 80 requirement later but have to split current camp happenings into groups). Players had to pass three COVID-19 tests in a four-day span to even enter a team’s facility for routine things like physicals and contractual work. Players who test positive or were in close contact with someone who has go to the reserve/COVID-19 list and quarantine. A five-percent threshold dictates how often each team must test (every day or every other day).

Teams are allotted 14 padded practices beginning August 17. Specifically to the Bengals, Zac Taylor has been quarantining his four quarterbacks. The organization says to date there have been no positive tests.
