USC in the top-8 for three-star running back Tavierre Dunlap

The USC Trojans need more depth at running back, and three-star recruit Tavierre Dunlap could be the answer.

The USC Trojans are in need of incoming talent at the running back position, with Vavae Malepeai, Stephen Carr and Quincy Jountti all graduating after the 2020 season. That leaves just Markese Stepp and Kenan Christon on the roster for 2021, and the team does not have any running backs in the class of 2020 or the class of 2021 – yet.

That could change following the news that Tavierre Dunlap, a three-star running back out of Texas, announced USC among his top-8 schools on Twitter Thursday morning.

Dunlap’s list also included Utah, Michigan, Virginia Tech, Washington, ASU, Nebraska and Oklahoma State.

Dunlap is ranked No. 374 overall by 247Sports’ composite rankings, good for 22nd among running backs. 247Sports is higher on him than the composite rankings, however, ranking him 222nd nationally and No. 14 among running backs.

The six-foot, 196 pound back has a lot of speed and room to grow, which could make him a fast grower at the collegiate level.

Considering USC’s need in the backfield, Dunlap would be a nice addition to an already stacked class of 2021.
