Boston Celtics rookie Grant Williams on Monday expressed his gratitude toward teammate Kemba Walker for allowing him to stay at his home during the season suspension in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Williams is from Charlotte and started staying with Walker once the season shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic. Walker said last week that the two had a great time together and became even closer during the hiatus from the season.
Williams and Walker would work out together in an attempt to stay in shape in order to be ready once the season would return. The gesture by Walker to open up his home won’t soon be lost on Williams as he told reporters, according to Brian Robb of the Boston Sports Journal.
Grant Williams on Kemba opening up his house to him during quarantine: "It meant the world, especially at that time when no one knew much about the world moving forward. For him to reach out to extend that helping hand, that was a great thing for a friend and a teammate to do."

The Celtics are among the 22 teams set to restart the season at the Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Florida. Since the Celtics have essentially locked up third place, they will likely use the eight seeding games as a tune-up in order to be prepared for when the playoffs begin.
The Celtics return to action on July 31 vs. the Milwaukee Bucks.
