Titans QB Ryan Tannehill was a master of the red-zone in 2019

Ryan Tannehill out-performed every quarterback in the league in this particular area last year.

There’s plenty to like about Ryan Tannehill — the Tennessee Titans wouldn’t have signed the quarterback to a four-year, $118 million contract extension if there was not.

Tannehill, previously known for his issues with inconsistency while with the Miami Dolphins, all but totally resurrected himself as he recorded the best season of his career in 2019.

He finished out the season with a completion percentage of 70.3 percent, throwing for 2,742 yards, 22 touchdowns and just six interceptions in 12 games (10 starts) in 2019.

Tannehill led the NFL in yards per attempt (9.6), adjusted yards gained per pass attempt (10.2), yards per completion (13.6) and passer rating (117.5).

But he also thrived in red-zone action better than any other quarterback in the league, according to Pro Football Focus.

Drew Brees, Lamar Jackson and Gardner Minshew were among those who trailed most closely behind him.

Barring any surprises or him falling into his old tendencies, Tannehill seems to have found the perfect landing spot for the long term in Nashville.
