Just eight days ago, 2021 Bolingbrook (IL) three-star linebacker Tyler McLaurin named a top five of Michigan, Michigan State, Iowa State, Nebraska and Texas Tech. But he didn’t need much time to make his decision, it turns out.
Rated the No. 404 player in the country and 11th-best player in the state of Illinois, McLaurin chose to follow the footsteps of the top-rated player in his home state in quarterback J.J. McCarthy, and join the Wolverines 2021 class as the twelfth player to pledge to Michigan.
McLaurin had 100% of his 247Sports Crystal Balls indicating that he would eventually wear the maize and blue.

Tight ends coach Sherrone Moore was McLaurin’s primary recruiter, with Don Brown being secondary on the charge.
He also had offers from Georgia Tech, Virginia, Kentucky and Purdue, amongst others.
