[autotag]Conor McGregor[/autotag] burst into the UFC scene, and it didn’t take long for him to be heard.
The former Cage Warriors featherweight and lightweight champion McGregor (22-4 MMA, 10-2 UFC), was matched up in his UFC debut in 2013 with streaking “The Ultimate Fighter 14” cast member Marcus Brimage.
Brimage came out strong, but a patient and calm McGregor was able to evade most of his big shots, and land on the counter. Then just over a minute into the fight, McGregor connected with multiple uppercuts, followed by pinpoint accurate shots, taking out Brimage in Round 1.
His post-fight speech didn’t disappoint, as a happy McGregor yelled “Dana, 60 G’s baby,” in what would subsequently become one of the most common lines among fighters after an impressive performance.
McGregor would then go on to mirror his Cage Warriors dual-champ success, by becoming the first fighter in UFC history to hold two titles simultaneously, earning both the 145 and 155-pound belts.
