LaMelo Ball’s season in the NBL was highlight-filled and action-packed, even if it was also filled with frustrations and overall disappointment in its brevity. Ball lived up to the individual hype from day one of his time in the league. His performance, even if short, was enough to earn him Rookie of the Year honors over fellow Next Star RJ Hampton among others.
After the league came to an abrupt end during the Grand Final, the NBL account began looking back at the season with videos of top five plays from standout players on Twitter, starting with Ball.

Ball’s versatility is showcased by the wide-ranging types of plays in his top five. The first play is a crossover that actually game in the first game of his NBL career while both a fastbreak dunk and a putback dunk featured.
The final two plays, though, are certainly his most impressive of the year. His three-pointer to tie the game against Cairns was a big enough play in its own right but considering it came in a triple-double effort made it even grander. His top play, though, was clearly his most exciting play, showcasing both his dribbling ability and his passing ability as well as his flashiness.
