Following the news from early Tuesday afternoon that four players from the Brooklyn Nets tested positive for the coronavirus, including Kevin Durant, the Los Angeles Lakers are taking the proper precautions necessary as last week’s Lakers-Nets Game on March 10 was the last game either team played before the indefinite season suspension on March 11.
The Lakers told their players on a conference call that they will all be administered coronavirus tests and that all players are advised to self-quarantine for 14 days, according to Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times.
It appears that the decision is a direct response to the team’s possible exposure to the virus in last week’s 104-102 win by the Brooklyn Nets that went down to the last shot. NBA players were previously told that they were free to leave their home markets but now wherever the Lakers are, they are being told to stay there for at least the next 14 days.
