Oddsmakers say Broncos aren’t the favorites to sign Melvin Gordon

Oddsmakers say several teams are more likely than the Broncos to sign Melvin Gordon during NFL free agency.

The Broncos are looking to add a running back this offseason to complement Phillip Lindsay. Denver had preliminary interest in David Johnson before the Cardinals traded him to the Texans and KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis tweeted on Monday that the Broncos are a team to “keep an eye on” in the RB market.

While the Broncos are interested in RBs, the oddsmakers at SportsBetting.ag do not believe Denver is the favorite to sign Melvin Gordon. Here are their latest odds for Gordon’s next team:

Tampa Bay Buccaneers +250
Atlanta Falcons +300
Miami Dolphins +300
Arizona Cardinals +600
Philadelphia Eagles +700
Indianapolis Colts +900
Pittsburgh Steelers +1000
Denver Broncos +1000
Chicago Bears +1400

The Broncos are considered the seventh-most likely landing spot for Gordon, with the Buccaneers considered the favorites. Tampa Bay is also going after former Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.

Gordon spent the first five years of his career with the Chargers. In nine career games against Denver, Gordon rushed 158 times for 593 yards. He also caught 26 passes for 212 yards and one score against the Broncos.

The new league year — and NFL free agency — will begin on Wednesday.
