Shannon Sharpe gives his take on Broncos QB Drew Lock

“It looks like they found their quarterback in Drew Lock,” Hall of Fame tight end Shannon Sharpe said of the Broncos.

Shannon Sharpe has never been shy when it comes to sharing his opinions.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame tight end was an entertainer during his playing days and he had one of the best mic’d up moments in NFL history. Sharpe is still an entertainer today — he co-hosts a sports talk show with Skip Bayless on FS1.

In 2018, he said offensive tackle Garett Bolles was going to get Case Keenum injured. In 2016, he said offensive lineman Ty Sambrailo was going to get Trevor Siemian hurt. Clearly, Sharpe tells it like he see sit.

When it comes to Broncos quarterback Drew Lock, Sharpe has only good things to say.

“It looks like they found their quarterback in Drew Lock, he played unbelievable coming down the stretch,” Sharpe said during an interview with the team’s official website earlier this month. “I like his moxie, I like his poise. You can tell he’s a leader — you can tell guys like following him, you can tell guys like being around him.

“And that’s part of the battle because you have to win the locker room over. You have to convince those guys every single day and when you take the field on Sunday, ‘I’m the best chance for us to win this ball game.’ And it seems like he’s done a great job of doing that.”

That’s a pretty good endorsement from Sharpe, who isn’t afraid to criticize players when he feels it’s deserved. Lock went 4-1 as a starter last season, completing 64.1 percent of his passes for 1,020 yards with seven touchdown passes against three interceptions.

Lock look to build on those numbers as a full-time starter in 2020.
