Cardinals’ improvement in 2019 creates slightly higher Vegas expectations in 2020

Check out what we think about it.

The Arizona Cardinals improved from three to five wins in 2019 with Kliff Kingsbury and Kyler Murray. While fans are excited about potentially a big jump in success in 2020, the expectations in Vegas are tempered.

According to Touchdown Wire, the Cardinals’ over/under for 2020 is set at 6.5 wins.

That is a fair number to set it at. The Cardinals are expected to be better, but maybe not enough to make it to the playoffs.

The NFC West is expected to be competitive again and the Cardinals only mustered one win in the division. They face 2019 playoffs teams like the Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles.

At 6.5, it makes it hard to confidently take the Over or the Under.

If the defense improves and Kyler Murray takes the expected second-year steps, then the Cardinals could be good and the over will pay off. However, if injuries return and the defense is suspect, then the under is the way to go.
