Sixers miss out on Andre Iguodala as Heat acquire veteran forward

The Philadelphia 76ers miss out on Andre Iguodala as he’s traded to the Miami Heat.

The Philadelphia 76ers are looking for more help in their chase for a title in the 2019-20 season and are looking for more help on the wings. After missing out on Robert Covington, who was one of their top targets, they have now also missed out on another wing.

The Memphis Grizzlies are sending veteran forward Andre Iguodala to the Miami Heat which makes things tough for the Sixers. Miami is one of the teams that Philadelphia will have to battle with in order to reach their championship destination and with this Iguodala addition, it gives them another proven veteran who can do a little bit of everything and compliment Jimmy Butler.

The Heat took three out of four matchups with the Sixers on the season and this addition makes them even deeper and tougher. The caveat is that he has not played since the NBA Finals in June so nobody knows how he will look.

On top of that, there’s a possibility they grab Oklahoma City Thunder forward Danilo Gallinari as well. That would make the Heat a matchup nightmare.

The Sixers will now have to work fast as they look to bolster their roster. The trade deadline is now less than 19 hours away as general manager Elton Brand looks to add the pieces necessary to this roster. [lawrence-related id=25023,25014,25002]
