As Campbell Hall and Sierra Canyon took the floor on Tuesday night, the two high school basketball teams honored the late Kobe Bryant by taking two clock violations.
The gesture was prearranged by the two teams ahead of the contest as the game officials set the shot clock to 24 seconds in this instance, versus the standard 35 seconds in California. Campbell Hall took a 24-second violation while Sierra Canyon took an eight-second violation.
LeBron James, the father of Sierra Canyon’s Bronny James, attended the matchup as the two teams paid tribute to Bryant, his daughter, Gigi, and the seven others that perished in a helicopter crash just outside of Los Angeles on Sunday morning.

Following the death of Bryant, the NBA postponed Tuesday night’s game between the Clippers and Lakers as several players and those within the organization continue to mourn the loss of Bryant. Teams across the NBA have also honored Bryant by taking clock violations with each arena holding a moment of silence.
