Does Chase Young intend to return to Ohio State in 2020?

Ohio State edge rusher Chase Young broke hearts of New York Giants fans on Friday, saying he intends to return to OSU in 2020.

“The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry.” So may the case for the New York Giants when it comes to their potential plans for the 2020 NFL Draft.

Currently, the Giants hold the second overall pick in the upcoming 2020 NFL Draft with three games left. With a 2-11 record and a nine-game losing streak, the Giants are all but certain to have a top five pick and potentially, a top three pick if things remain the same.

In most mock drafts, the Giants have selected Ohio State defensive end Chase Young, which makes sense given the team’s desperate need for a premier pass rusher for their defense.

However, as Young stated in a recent interview with TMZ, he may be returning to college for his senior season.

Now, a lot can change between now and when Young has to officially declare his status for the 2020 draft. However, if Young is serious about returning to school next season, then it may drastically alter the Giants’ draft plans.

Young, who was considered the best defensive player leading into this year’s draft class if he entered, makes the most sense for the Giants, as they already have their quarterback of the future in Daniel Jones. They could also look at Andrew Thomas, the offensive lineman from Georgia, given their needs for the offensive line.
