While it wasn’t as serious as Rodney Hood’s torn Achilles for the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday night, the Los Angeles Lakers did not escape Friday night’s game in Portland unscathed.
The Lakers were dominant in the first half of Friday’s game as they once again put together an excellent showing on the road, leading the Trail Blazers 77-62 at halftime. But the Lakers did have some bad news at halftime as reserve guard Rajon Rondo was ruled out for the remainder of the game with a hamstring injury, according to Tania Ganguli of the Los Angeles Times. Rondo had missed the first few weeks of the season with a calf injury.
Rondo had six points, three rebounds, and three assists at halftime. He’s also been shooting the lights out from the 3-point line, shooting 50 percent on 3-pointers entering Friday’s game. Rondo is a career 32 percent 3-point shooter but he shot 36 percent from there last season.
We will update this story when more information on Rondo becomes available.
