The Arizona Cardinals have kept a third quarterback stashed on the practice squad all season. If they wish to continue to do that, they will have to sign someone else.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, quarterback Kyler Sloter, who has been on the Cardinals’ practice squad all year, has been signed by the Detroit Lions to their active roster. He will back up David Blough, as Jeff Driskel was placed on injured reserve.
The #Lions are placing QB Jeff Driskel on Injured Reserve, source said. He’s battled a hamstring. The corresponding move is signing QB Kyle Sloter off the #AZCardinals practice squad.

Sloter is known in the NFC North, as he spent two years with the Minnesota Vikings.
He was standout performer in the preseason the last three seasons, both with the Vikings and Denver Broncos. Even with his play, he has yet to appear in an NFL game.
